Effects

Flail deals more damage the lower the user’s HP. The following formula is used: N = 48 × CurrentHP ÷ MaxHP The value of N is then used to determine the base power, as per the table below. It converts to some quite specific percentages which are also shown.

Ratio (N) HP (%) Power
0 = N < 2 0 – 4.16 200
2 = N < 4 4.17 – 10.41 150
5 = N < 9 10.42 – 20.82 100
10 = N < 16 20.83 – 35.41 80
17 = N < 32 35.42 – 68.74 40
33 = N = 48 68.75 – 100 20

Changes

In Generations 2-4, Flail used a multiplier of 64 instead of 48. The table below shows the appropriate numbers.

Ratio (N) HP (%) Power
0 = N < 2 0 – 3.12 200
2 = N < 6 3.13 – 9.35 150
6 = N < 13 9.36 – 20.30 100
13 = N < 22 20.31 – 34.37 80
22 = N < 43 34.38 – 67.18 40
43 = N = 64 67.19 – 100 20
